Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority

Objective:

Each year during the first week in May, the tourism industry nationwide celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week, a program developed by the U.S. Travel Association.  The LVCVA's number one event during this week is the Hospitality Hero program. The LVCVA started this program in 2008 recognizing 322 hospitality workers through last year, and they added 59 more to that list during #NTTW2015.

The Hospitality Hero program was developed several years ago to recognize the frontline workers who are the true reason their guests keep coming back to Las Vegas. This year, they surprised 59 local workers that were on the job at the resorts and attractions to honor them for the tremendous work they do for their destination.

Outcome:

LVCVA had a design in mind, and the team at Sky High was able to help maximize its impact. Host Committee Chair, Oscar Goodman, along with Public Affair executives recognized frontline employees at hotels and attractions by surprising them on the job with a Hospitality Hero award.

Our contact from LVCVA tells us, "Recipients of the award were overwhelmed by emotion and brought to tears of happiness or in complete shock."
